La crise de la fin du Moyen Âge en France Tout au long du XIVe siècle, il se produit en Europe une crise économique, politique et sociale qui marque la fin du Moyen Âge. La guerre de Cent Ans Au début du xive siècle, le royaume de France connaît une crise de succession: les trois fils du roi Philippe IV le Bel sont morts sans héritier masculin. Philippe de Valois (Philippe VI), neveu de Philippe IV et cousin des derniers rois, est désigné par les grands seigneurs français et monte sur le trône. Il fonde la dynastie des Capétiens Valois. Isabelle, fille de Philippe IV, est écartée de la succession à la mort de ses frères au nom de la loi salique qui interdit à une femme de régner. Elle a épousé le roi d'Angleterre et a un fils nommé Édouard III. Ce dernier est donc le petit-fils de Philippe IV le Bel et neveu des derniers rois. We usually share good moments with our friends and we often make plans together. We have been practising this functional language in class: Are you free after school tomorrow? Sorry, I'm busy. What about on Tuesday afternoon? Where shall we meet? What about in front of the supermarket? What time? How about meeting at half past four? We have also seen some vocabulary related to films: Some friends are talking about their plans for this evening. They all like going to the cinema but they have to choose a particular kind of film and sometimes even best friends disagree ... We practised this oral activity in class. Unfortunately, we can't upload the videos here but we learnt some useful vocabulary and we made suggestions . We also realized that it's not easy to reach an agreement , especially when there are many people involved. Has this ever happened to you?

They called the unknown element the thing, because they had no other name for it. “How much is the thing if when increased by five it is double the thing minus seven?” The word thing in Arabic, is pronounced xay, so this is the expression translators used. Later it was abbreviated to its initial letter, x. Equations: degree and difficulty Finding formulas to solve first and second-degree equiatons is not very difficult for mathematicians. Those problems were solved in the Middle Ages. But this wasn´t the case with problems that had a higher degree than two.
