Projects: A fact sheet about a city





Our students have been working on a project about different cities around the world. They have done it individually or in pairs and they have presented their power points to the rest of the class. We have recorded some of them and the result has been very positive.

The ancient Egyptian calendar The ancient Egyptians were the first civilization to create a calendar which organised the year into 365 days . This calendar is believed to date back to the 3 ͬ ͩ millennium BC. The year consisted of 12 months of 30 days each one plus five holy days. The months were divided into three weeks of ten days each. Graffiti à Paris

Le Pont des Arts, reliant le Louvre à la Rive Gauche à Paris, soutenait autrefois le poids de milliers d’amoureux. Il était une fois des couples qui cadenassaient leur amour au pont et jettaient la clé, en immortalisant leur relation près de la Seine, à Paris, la ville de l’amour. De façon controversée, la mairie de Paris a été obligée de démonter les 45 tonnes de fer des grilles du pont à cause d’un possible effondrement. Mais face aux couples furieux, Paris devait trouver une solution à ce lourd problème. Autrefois le pont romantique des cadenas, ce dernier est aujourd’hui transformé en une gallérie publique pour le street-art, grâce à la collaboration entre la mairie et Gallérie Itinerrance.
